The Town of Wytheville will accept applications for permits to hunt on Town-owned land on Sand Mountain. Applicants must be Wythe County residents.  Applications are only available on the Town’s webpage through the OpenGov online permitting system at www.wytheville.org. The application fee is $25. The Town issues a maximum number of 50 hunting permits each year. When the number of applicants exceeds 50, the permittees will be chosen by lottery. The deadline for submittal of an application is 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2024. Permits will be issued as soon thereafter as practical.
