Community Center NatatoriumCommunity Center Natatorium has four pools for your enjoyment!
- Main pool: 6 lane, 25 yard competition pool, with depths ranging from 4 ft. to 8 ft 6 in. Two lanes will always be open for lap swim.
- Water Park: designed for children to experience fun and laughter while spending the day at the pool. Water Park has a water slide, pipe waterfall, arch spray, mushroom spray, and lemon drop deck spray and therapy jets. Water park will be open Monday - Sunday.

The Community Center Natatorium also has men, women, and family locker rooms.
The Natatorium hosts birthday parties, sports team banquets, and other special events.

Pool Rentals Hours: Friday 7:30 - 9:30 pm, Saturday 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Natatorium will have American Red Cross lifeguards on duty for public swim and all pool rentals.
- No food allowed in pool area except bottled water.
- All swimmers must wear swimsuit.
- Please let pool staff know if you have any special needs or requirements.

*McWane Pool will be open on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) through Labor Day.

Swim Lessons
Fee: $25.00 town residents; $35.00 non-residents
Participants: Min 3 - Max 6 per class
Classes: 8 per session
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors (WSI) teach all swim lessons. All swim lessons will be held at the Wytheville Community Center pool.
Parent & Child Swim Lessons
Infant/Toddler-Starfish
Ages 6 months - 2 years
For children who have little or no previous water experiences and is designed to help develop swimming readiness. Parents & their children will be lead in water exploration activities while having fun & becoming comfortable with the water.
Pre-School - Sea Horse
Ages 3 & 4
For those who have little or no previous water experience and is designed to help develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities while having fun and becoming comfortable in and around the water.
Youth Swim Lessons
Ages 5-12
Level I - GOLD FISH
Helps students feel comfortable in the water. Learn to: enter & exit water safely; submerge mouth, nose and eyes; exhale underwater through mouth and nose; open eyes underwater, pick up submerged objects; change direction while or padding; roll over from front to back and back to front with support; explore swimming on front and back using arm and leg actions with support; and use a life jacket.
Level II - SEALS
Students learn to enter water by stepping or jumping from the side; submerge entire head; blow bubbles submerging head in a rhythmic pattern (bobbing); open eyes underwater; pick up a submerged object in shallow water; float and back; perform front and back glide; change direction of travel paddling on front or back; roll over from front to back, back to front; tread water using arm and leg motions (chest-deep water); swim on front, back and side using combined arm and leg actions; move in the water while wearing life jacket.
Level III - DOLPHINS
Students learn to: jump into deep water from the side; dive from kneeling or standing position; submerge and retrieve an object in chest deep water; bob with the head fully submerged; rotary breathing in horizontal position; perform front and back glide using hand and leg movements; perform front and back crawl; butterfly-kick and body motion; perform the Help and Huddle position.
Level IV - ORCAS
Students learn to perform a dive from a standing or stride position; swim underwater; perform feet-first surface dive; open turns of front and back; tread water using sculling arm motions and with different kicks; front and back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke; swim on side using scissors-like kick; perform compact jump into the water from a height while wearing a life jacket.
Adult Lessons
Ages 13 & up
Designed to help students feel more comfortable in and around water, students will learn basic floating, gliding and swimming techniques and basic water safety.
